Christoffel Jacobsz. van der Lamen).
Condition
The following condition report is provided by Henry Gentle who is an external specialist and not an employee of Sotheby's:
All three panels have been cradled. The cradles have set up tension within the panels and, as a result, all three have varying degrees of horizontal splits along the wood grain with accompanying minor paint loss. There is also a small amount of raised paint blisters along the wood grain . Transparency of the paint has meant there is a dominance of the pale ochre ground is some areas to all three paintings. A scattering of restoration to all the three panels can be detected.
Overall, the paint, to all three, is in good preserved condition. The removal of the discoloured varnish would improve overall tonality.
