Condition
Both canvasses have a firm old relining. The paint surface is in good condition, covered by a thick layer of dirt.
Inspection under ultraviolet light shows in the first canvas, small retouchings in the sky, a repair to a horizontal tear upper right measuring 20 cm and a repair to a D-shaped tear lower right measuring 7 x 3 cm. In the second canvas, UV light shows very small minor retouchings throughout, as well as a 6 cm. U-shaped tear lower left corner, a vertical 9 cm. and vertical 26 cm. tear lower right, and a 10 cm. diagonal tear upper right. All are barely visible to the naked eye.
The pair are offered in matching simple wooden frames with a gilt sight edges, each with four small drilled holes for hanging, but otherwise in good condition.
