Overall the condition of the marble is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is particular dirt to the crevices. There is a small loss to the proper right ear, and a further small loss to the corner of the socle. There are chips in particular to the edges of the drapery and some smaller chips to the beard and the hair at the high points. There are some naturally occurring inclusions to the marble consistent with the material, including a slightly open inclusion to the forehead on the proper left side and some dark inclusions to the drapery on the proper right side. There are two filled inclusions to the drapery close to the edge on the proper right side. There are a few splashes of white paint, including to just above the proper left eyebrow, and below the proper left ear. There is a small splash of blue paint to the beard on the proper right side, and to the drapery at the centre of the chest. There are minor chips to the edges of the socle and some very minor splashes of white paint.
