This textile is the reverse section of a chasuble. It has been professionally mounted against a light caramel coloured satin and set within a glazed frame, sealed on the reverse. Very finely embroidered with beautiful and realistic detailing to flowers. The metal-thread ground, with it's variety of application, designed to catch the light, now has some oxidisation to the silver threads, and some losses in areas, especially within left panel, where the linen beneath is visible. Some minor areas of loss of coloured threads within flowers, see for example pink flower central left side (above the tulip in the design).
Beautifully drawn design, technically well executed. Very decorative, evocative textile.
