Description

Condition

In good condition, with overall marks and scratches consistent with age and use. The bronzes and brass inlay, displaying some tarnishing consistent with age, would benefit from a light clean. Some losses to the Boulle marquetry, most notably to the tops of both, together with minor secure liftings.

Catalogue Note

Town and Emanuel traded from 103 New Bond Street between 1830 and 1849. Manufacturers of furniture, they also dealt in antiques and curiosities. A games table with similar Boulle marquetry and mounts from around 1835 is in the Royal Collection (inv. no. RCIN 21622).
