Description

  • rosewood, ivory, mother-of-pearl
  • 17cm. high, 39.5cm. deep, 31cm. deep; 6¾in., 1ft. 3¾in., 1ft. ¼in.
the lid fitted with a felt lined slope opening to reveal a rosewood banded mirror above several lidded compartments with turned ivory handles, a number of perfume bottles of varying sizes, a tray with a mother-of-pearl mounted knife and turned ivory brush, with a concealed drawer to the front 

Condition

In overall in reasonable conserved condition. With minor shrinkage cracks to the top and returns and minor losses to veneers and banding. The felt lining to the top is worn. The ivory handles and glass elements have minor chips and losses. The lower drawer is locked and lacks its key an escutcheon. With minor old marks and scratches commensurate with age and use
