Description

of baluster square section with chamfered fluted corners, printed and coloured with shaped panels enclosing chinoiserie figures at various pursuits, reserved on a deep-blue ground heightened with ochre flowering trails, set with iron-red and gilt chilong handles, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted with a pagoda,

Condition

The pagoda finial repaired at terminal The cover fixed in position to vase. There is a securing rod through vase which extends and protrudes lower than the foot. A section of the foot has been repaired with two associated hairline cracks. There is typical glaze crazing and some gilding wear.
