one Buddhist depicting the 'four guardians and followers' standing amongst cloud scrolls, unframed, the other Daoist depicting Gods and attendants, framed and glazed,
Condition
The one examined framed and glazed as illustrated to the right in the catalogue, has a matrix of vertical and horizontal cracks and creases with associated paint loss, rubbing, areas of re-touching including a 5x8cm., triangular section to the middle left; the other painting as illustrated to the left in the catalogue has been mounted on a wood frame and has similar extensive vertical and horizontal creases and cracks with rubbing and small tears and minor re-touching; the painting is in a delicate state.
