Condition

Overall, the condition of the candlestick is good, with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some rubbing to gilding of the metal, including to the high points, to the man's chest and back and to the legs. There are a few nicks and scratches, particularly to the high points, including to the nose, to the points of the sleeves and to the edges and corners of the base. The metal rim around the drip pans is very slightly warped, and there seem to be a few small losses and re-attachments. There are various nicks and scratches to the gilded surface. There is some candle wax residue around the candle holders, on the drip pan on the proper right side and on the top of the base. There are protective paper pads under two of the feet.
