Description

  • Marble, oak, lacquer, gilt-bronze
  • 85cm. high, 94cm. wide, 50cm. deep; 2ft. 9½in., 3ft. 1in., 1ft. 7¾in.
of breakfront outline, the moulded marble top above two drawers sans traverse and shaped apron, on cabriole legs ending in cast sabots; with label for 'The Pantechnicon, Belgrave Square' inscribed 'H. Blairman 27-4-61'

Condition

In good condition, the marble top with marks and scratches and very minor chips consistent with age and use. There are traces of old woodworm which appears to be no longer active. Some losses, chips and cracks to the lacquered surfaces, the gilt-bronze mounts displaying some age-related tarnishing. The drawers are slightly warped and do not sit flush inside the carcass of the commode. The lower drawer has signs of an old restored age crack to the left had side.
