12-inch dial with female mask and scroll spandrels, matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, signed on a silvered plaque Windmills & Elkins, London, strike/silent dial in the arch flanked by dolphin frets, the three train movement with five knopped and ringed pillars, anchor escapement, rack striking on a bell and quarter chiming on a nest of six bells, the associated case with concave sided cresting and foliate fret panels, giltwood flambeau finials above foliate giltwood hood corners, broken-arch trunk door, the stepped plinth with ebonised mouldings, on boldly gadrooned feet
