- 27.5cm. 10¾in. high
4¼-inch silver champlevé dial with central alarm disc, the substantial three train movement with chain fusee to the going train, lipped barrel, verge escapement with front-mounted pendulum, the hour and quarter trains with standing barrels engraved with flowers, foliate pierced and engraved striking gates, hours, quarters and alarm on two bells mounted in the base, the brass case with gilt-copper cushion cresting repoussé with flowers and foliate scrolls, gilt-brass carrying handle, above unusual dolphin/bird corner mounts, glazed side panels, the whole finely engraved with flowers and foliate scrolls, the rear with silver champlevé hour and quarter indication dials and signed Marcus Böhm, Augusta, Vindelicorum, the moulded base on boldly cast scroll feet
Condition
All dials very tarnished and lacking much of the black wax, hands appear to be original. Movement is complete but is very much in need of a clean, service and fresh oil, striking needs adjustment. Case in good condition but rather dirty, gilding rubbed to top and other high points, old minor marks and scuffs. No winder.
