Description

  • Brass, steel
  • 16.5cm. 6½in. high
1¾-inch dial the outer twelve-hour dial with touch pieces and enclosing a twenty-four hour dial, central alarm disc, hand replaced, the posted steel movement with verge escapement and balance with later hairspring, chain fusees with lipped barrels, the striking train and alarm acting on the top-mounted bell, the plain case with pierced dome  

Condition

Dial in good condition, hand replaced. Movement appears complete but has not been tested for running condition and it should be assumed that it will require cleaning, service and overhaul, alterations to escapement, some wheels possibly replaced, later hairspring and regulation. Case retains much of the original gilding but is rubbed and has some old dents and scuffs, finials probably replaced. No winder.
