Description

each baluster body rising from a spreading flat base to a short straight neck and everted rim, moulded and brightly enamelled to each face with an arch-shaped peony and prunus panel alternately enclosing landscape scenes, flowers and birds, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a lion finial

Condition

Both vases and covers are in very good condition with the exception of a 1cm., shallow flake to the inside of the rim of one vase, some enamel flaking and kiln-grit adhered to the edge of the foot on the other, a 6cm., glaze hairline to the inside of one cover, and minor glaze frits to the lion finials.
