Condition

The canvas is not lined and is slightly loose on its stretcher. Examination under UV light reveals fluorescence to the signature and a few small lines of retouching to the lower left quadrant. The gold highlights on the woman's dress are dark and tarnished and some of the other gold highlights are slightly erased in places. There are some fine lines of craquelures to the upper part of the composition notably to the light green pigment. There is a horizontal bar stretcher mark along the upper edge. There appears to be a few missing highlights notably to the left part of the upper edge and to the left of the right hand side of the woman's hair. This work is in overall good condition.
