Condition

EN : Good overal condition. Light surface scratches scattered and a few scattered small dents on the wood. The wood has been re-varnished and presents with a few previous restorations (most likely to reinforce some cracks and to repair some minor dents). On the upper shelf, a small piece of wood has been re-fixed on the underside of the shelf. The ceramic shade is in good overall condition. Three chips of ceramic on the inner side of the rim, barely visible when looking at the piece. Several flaws on the rim of the bowl, all inherent to the manufacturing process and some original abrasions. Overall light surface soiling. Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician. For as long as this piece has been known, this torchère was accompanied by this ceramic bowl. Nonetheless, it is not certain that the bowl is by Guimard.
