Catalogue Note

This model exists with a few variants, such as the pair auctioned in Paris, Palais d'Orsay on 13 June 1979, lot 34 which had an indented frieze decoration on the base in place of the foliage garland. It is sometimes fitted with a removable candlearm section to transform the candlesticks into candelabra similar to lot 97. A pair of similar candlesticks was sold at Sotheby's in Paris, former Dillée collection, on 18 March 2015, lot 74.
