A L’oeil nu :
To the naked eye:
The painting is in a very satisfactory condition. The painting is still on its original canvas but the stretcher has been changed during the second half of the 20th century. It has been cleaned a little bit too strong, so some glazes have been removed on the brown parts (background, brown coat, wig).
Under U.V. light:
The painting appears under a green uniform varnish. We notice numerous repaints on the red drapery, the wig and the back of the armchair.
