Condition
A l’œil nu :
Le tableau apparaît dans un état de conservation peu satisfaisant. Il est peint sur un panneau entièrement parqueté. Le panneau est parfaitement droit. On ne remarque pas de soulèvements de matière. On remarque une griffure oblique de 40 cm. de longueur partant de la gauche, traversant l’auréole du Christ et le visage de la Vierge. D’assez nombreuses usures sont réparties sur toute la surface de l’œuvre. On remarque également d’assez nombreuses et importantes restaurations anciennes intervenant surtout dans le fond vert.
A lampe U.V. :
Le tableau apparaît sous un vernis vert uniforme. On ne remarque pas les restaurations, trop anciennes pour être vues à la lampe.
To the naked eye:
The painting is in weak condition. It is painted on an entirely cradled panel. The panel is perfectly flat. We do not notice any pictural uplift. We notice a 40 cm. diagonal tear starting from the left, going through the Christ’s halo and the Virgin’s face. There are many wears on the overall surface. We also notice many and important former restorations, specially on the green background.
Under U.V. light:
The painting appears under a green uniform varnish. We cannot notice the restorations too old to be seen under the lamp.
