the center painted with a mythological scene depicting Jupiter reclining in the arms of Juno, an eagle at the god's feet, a peacock over Juno's shoulder and two playful putti in the background, within a gilt spearhead band and elaborate strapwork and scale paneled border.
Provenance
Collection of Jeannette Menides Curuby, Boston, (1924-2015) acquired in the 1940s-60s and thence by descent.
Condition
There is a fine 1 1/2 inch hair crack to the rim. Minor stacking wear to the edge of the center panel.
