The crest and monogram are those of Benjamin Wilcox (1859-?) of Bristol, Massachusetts, who worked in the cotton manufacturing industry, serving as treasurer to the Pierce Manufacturing Corporation, City Manufacturing Co., and Bristol Mill. In 1884, he married Charlotte W. Haskins, with whom he had one son, John Haskins Wilcox.
