Description

chased with rocaille and applied with fully-modeled shells, coral, dolphins, a Neptune mask, and two anchors on each side attached by a chain, the front engraved with a presentation inscription within a ropework cartouche including buoys, flags and tridents, each side with a laurel wreath reserve and the back with oak leaves and acorns, the acanthus-capped handle with dolphin terminal and surmounted by a sailor with binoculars

Condition

one applied anchor with loss and repair, inside the handle has a post but it appears incomplete and may be lacking something to hold chain in place, minor dings throughout, otherwise good condition
