Ce groupe reprend la célèbre Diane chasseresse par Melchior Mair, Augsbourg, vers 1600-1610, illustrée dans l'ouvrage d'Helmut Seling, Die Kunst der Augsburger Goldschmiede, Band II, n° 176. En réalité, deux exemplaires de ce groupe par Melchior Mair sont connus, un à Vienne et un à Dresde. Celui de la Grünes Gewolbe de Dresde est illustré dans de nombreux ouvrages comme, par exemple, Dirk Syndram, Prukstücke des Grünen Gewölbes zu Dresden, p. 73.
