Condition

Illustration is quite accurate. Attractive model. There are some traces of previous restoration, especially to the right leg. As the carving is fine and delicate, it is fragile and some elements have been restored. The structure has been entirely strengthened and later blocks have been added. It has been also largely re-gilt. Overall chips to the gilding. Traces of three horizontal cracks to the back. Traces of woodworm holes. Marble top restored. Rare example of early Louis XV gilt-wood console with a plain carved back.
