Catalogue Note

The present object was realized in a limited edition in 1967, a variant of Man Ray's iconic 1921 work Cadeau (Gift), that comprises an iron with a row of tacks glued to the soleplate, thus rendering it useless. This object is a readymade iron, duly modified by chrome plating the iron soleplate. The words 'phare' and 'harpe' are anagrams of each other.
