Condition

The image is quite accurate. As visible, the varnished bronzes are extensively worn and tarnished. As said, the glass in front of the dial is missing. The mechanism is present, but we do not guarantee its working order. Large model with an imposing look, which needs a general restoration.

Ce cartel au couple de musiciens est à rapprocher d'un modèle quasiment identique dont le mouvement est signé Pierre Le Roy, reproduit en couverture de l'Encyclopédie de la pendule française du Moyen Age au XXe siècle de Pierre Kjellberg, Paris, 1997, et p. 102, fig. A. D'autres exemples similaires comprennent des mouvements par les horlogers Berton, Brindeau ou Colin de Laglizière.
