Ann Getty is a philanthropist, designer, taste-maker and collector. She is married to Gordon Getty, a businessman, investor, philanthropist, vintner and classical music composer of operas, including Plump Jack and Joan and the Bells. He is the fourth child of the oil tycoon J. Paul Getty Sr., whose family art foundation endows the world's richest art collecting institution and two museums, leading the global change for art research and conservation. Mrs. Getty, long interested in Chinese art, purchased this small selection of high quality classical Chinese paintings in the 1980s privately and through auction.
