Description

  • Boxwood
naturalistically carved in openwork with gnarled and entwining branches forming the curved shaft, the knotted and burled branches extending to form the domed head of the sceptre, the patina of a warm caramel-brown colour

Condition

This boxwood ruyi is in good condition, with some minute nicks to the extremities, and minor age cracks in various areas. A stem on the back of the head has been reattached with traces of glue.
