the lobed ovoid body rising from a short straight foot to a short straight rim, set to one side with a loop handle and to the other with a curved spout, painted and enamelled around the exterior to each lobe with an elongated floral spray, the domed cover with a band of flowers and surmounted by a lotus bud finial

Provenance

Purchased in Paris, 6th October 2004.

Condition

The cover with a restored area to the interior (approx. 3.5 x 2 cm), two cracks (approx. 9.5 cm and 12 cm), and a drilled hole on the finial through to the interior. The teapot with frits and chips on the rim and spout, and frits to the foot. There are slight scratches to the surface, burst bubbles and iron spots to both.
