Description

  • Porcelain, metal mount
of ovoid form, painted in bright cobalt-blue tones depicting branches of flowering prunus on a 'cracked ice' ground, with narrow chevron bands at the rim and foot, the cover similarly painted

Condition

This jar and cover are in good condition, but there is a small flake/firing flaw to the side of the body, 6mm by 2mm and a small area to the cover3mm diam. There is a firing crack running around the exterior base where it meets the footrim.
