Description

  • Jade, wood stands
comprising: a large green jade bi carved with whorls; a pale cream and russet bi carved with chilong; a pale cream and russet jade bi carved with whorls; a cream and russet jade bi carved with bosses and C-scrolls; and a small pale green jade bi carved with taotie masks; four wood stands, a fitted box

Provenance

The larger green bi, purchased in Hong Kong, August 1987.
The cream chilong bi, Sotheby's London, 9 May 1986, lot 716.
The cream whorl and cream scroll bi, purchased in Hong Kong, April 1979.
The small green bi, purchased in Hong Kong, March 1980.

Condition

The large green jade bi and the larger cream bi with a few minor chips to the edges. The other three bi disks are in overall very good condition.
