Description

  • gilt bronze
cast standing on a double-lotus pedestal with eight arms and eleven heads arranged in four tiers and surmounted with Amitabha, the principle hands in anjalimudra, the others fanned out each bearing an attribute with some now missing, clad in a long scarf with ends flowing down to the feet and a dhoti detailed with elaborate borders, adorned with beaded jewellery, the serene face beneath hair pulled into a tiara

Condition

This figure is in good condition but does have rubbing and some losses to the gilding throughout but especially to the primary frontal face and the various fore arms. There are also some scratches and nicks to the surface throughout, especially to the upper surface of the base where the feet of the figure slot in.
