Description

  • porcelain
with deep rounded sides, the exterior painted with four medallions depicting scholars travelling amidst mountainous wintry landscapes, all divided by floral scrolls, the interior painted with a stylised octangonal rosette highlighted in gilt, the base with a six-character seal mark

Condition

The bowl is in overall good condition. There are minute enamel flakes, particularly to the ruby red on the exterior. The blue enamels appear to be slightly bubbly, which is characteristic of the period. Minor surface scratches.
