with rounded sides rising to a flat everted rim, the interior applied with a coiling dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl, encircled by a foliate scroll, the exterior with upright lotus lappets, applied overall save for the footring with a sea-green glaze

Catalogue Note

Another Yuan dynasty Longquan celadon dish from the collection of Dr Carl Kempe, illustrated in Bo Gyllensvärd, Chinese Ceramics in the Carl Kempe Collection, Stockholm, 1964, pl. 144, was sold in our London rooms, 14th May 2008, lot 329, and again more recently in these rooms, 7th April 2015, lot 3671.
