the central bulbous section worked with a band of stylised taotie masks against a leiwen ground, between cicada lappets encircling the splayed foot and tall trumpet neck, all divided by openwork vertical flanges in the form of archaistic phoenix, the stone of a pale celadon tone mottled with brown
Provenance
Collection of T.Y. Chao (1912-1999), and thence by descent in the family.
Condition
The vase is in good condition with expected minute nibbling and bruising to the extremities.
