decorated to the interior with a five-clawed dragon writhing above crested waves, the underside similarly decorated with nine dragons dancing above waves, the base with a six-character seal mark

Provenance

Collection of George Moule (1828-1912), Bishop of Hangzhou from 1880-1907, and thence by descent, by repute.

Condition

There is a 2cm wide area of overpaint and overspray to the interior rim, possibly to conceal a rim hairline faintly visible on the exterior.
