Catalogue Note

First edition; 3.M11 is second state (cancel leaf with corrected text). Gilson notes that this is one of two copies known "in which the price and lower thin-thick rule have been cut away from the labels" (the other is the Mount Bellew set, sold at Sotheby's London, 23 May 1933, lot 313).
