Catalogue Note

The volumes, respectively, comprise 6 January to 30 December 1862, general orders 1–217; 1 July to 28 December 1863, general orders 202–400; and 1 January to 29 December 1864, general orders 1–307 (the 1864 volume is in fact lacking a number of printed orders, but these are noted and summarized on contemporary manuscript sheets bound in their steads).

John G. Haskell served in the Kansas Volunteers Army as a captain and assistant quartermaster general. After the war he was named the state architect and designed many public buildings in Kansas.
