Oblong broadsheets (18 5/8 x 23 in.; 473 x 584 mm). 39 (of 40) handcolored aquatint plates after Samuel Howitt (from sketches by Williamson) by H. Merke, J. Hamble, and Vivares; lacks additional stenciled title and plate 34, plate 1 torn, chipped and laid down, plates 5 and 24 laid down and with chipped margins, title-page and margins of plates with various degrees of soiling. Contemporary half black morocco, spine gilt, marbled boards, edges gilt; worn, spine renewed with original backstrip laid down. Contemporary cloth-bound portfolio; quite worn.
