Catalogue Note

These fine naval architect's drawings are among the few surviving documents from the career of Curtis D. Mabry of Wilmington, California, and include plans for a passenger vessel as well as for a variety of luxury motor yachts. The drawings include various Deck Plans, Outboard and Inboard Profiles, Arrangement Plans, and Construction Plans and evidently date from 1929 to 1933. A number of the drawings are for a luxury diesel yacht designed for the California philanthropist N. Paul Whittier.

As befits plans of vessels intended for leisure rather than racing, many of Mabry's drawings are highly decorative, often combining on a single sheet a very finished Outboard Profile with a detailed deck plan.
