A HANDSOME COPY. The work is notable for aquatint plates after William Havell, who accompanied the embassy.
"Hall's book… describes… his explorations in the little known eastern seas, and his visit to Canton (Guangzhou). His interview with Napoleon, who had known his father as a schoolboy at Brienne, is also recounted in the book” (ODNB).
