Description

  • ivory, tortoiseshell, gold,
all circular with miniatures on ivory, comprising a gold-mounted red lacquer box, portrait of a lady with white dress and lacy cap, signed and dated: Monmergue, 1797, tortoiseshell-lined, 7,5 cm., 3in. ; a pink composition box inlaid in gold, lid with miniature of a gentleman, blue coat, white cravat, strawwork lining with coat of arms in lid and base, 6,5 cm., 2 1/2 in.; two blond tortoiseshell boxes with gold piqué decoration, one with miniature of a lady with white dress and blue ribbons, the other with a gentleman in a woodland setting, by Jean-François Tourcaty (né 1763), signed Tourcaty, 17 [?]5, 6,5cm., 2 1/2 in. et 7 cm., 2 3/4 in.

Condition

All boxes with more or less damage, piqué loss or loose glass, the miniatures in better condition but some mould under glass
