Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. The lacquer panel: the lacquer is flaking. One flake is missing and there are a few other minute losses. The giltwood table: The gilding is probably later. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. There are some chips and rubbed areas to the gilding, revealing the white gesso, the red bowl and the wood underneath. The construction is firm. As stated in the catalogue, the table was previously a base of a cabinet.
