Description

  • The hat case: height 8 2/3 in., diameter 18 in. ; The tallest case: 10 x 31 x 17 in.
with chevrons, some cases with the mark E.C.B. for Eleanor Close Barzin; (wears and small accidents, one case with reinforced leather corners and a new leather handle)

Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. There are tears, wears and stains to the fabric inside and outside the cases. The leather is quite dry, with surface scratches due to age and use. The locks are quite rusty and the keys are missing, except the round hat box. One leather handle is torn and needs to be restored. Another handle has been replaced. The corners of one case have been reinforced with later metal pieces. Two inside removable baskets are missing.
