Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate but the gilding is less bright and the velvet less dark in reality. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. There are some chips and rubbed areas to the gilding, revealing the white gesso and the red bowl underneath. There are wooden blocks to reinforce the front feet of each armchair. One front feet has been broken and restored. There are old traces of woodworms. Both constructions are firm and sound. There are wears and stains to the velvet.
