Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate despite being a little bit too bright. Good overall condition despite the inevitable minor scratches and marks due to age and use. The gilding is later with a few minor chips revealing the red bowl and the white gesso underneath. The back central foot has been restored and the stretchers have been replaced. The upholstery is in good condition. The construction is firm and sound. Impressive canapé by a famous carpenter. Beautiful design.
