Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate despite being less bright and orange in reality. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. The lower part of one lyre is broken. The gilding is rubbed and tarnished. There are many chips and rubbed areas to the gilding, revealing the white gesso, the red bowl and the wood underneath. The lower parts of the backrests have been restored. The constructions are firm. The upholstery of one chair is made of silk, and the three others'upholstery is made of velvet. The velvet is in good overall condition, there are wears and tears to the silk.
