  • terracotta ; on a white marble and gilt-bronze base
  • Haut. (totale) 40 cm; height (overall) 15 2/3 in.

Condition

Good condition overall with surface dirt, notably in the crevices, and minor chips to the high points at several places and along the edges of the base consistent with age and handling. Stable firing hairline fissures are visible at several places, consistent with the material. Both heads appear to have been reattached with a joint barely visible. There is a slip to the surface at several places which may conceal some condition points. The white marble base is fairly dirty with oxidation visible to the gilt-bronze mounts slightly loose or bent at some places.
