engraved with the arms of John George Lambton with the family motto 'LE JOUR VIENDRA', with strawberry-cut diamonds, comprising two ship's decanters and stoppers, 26.5cm., 10 3/8 in. high; a pair of rinsers, 10.1cm., 4in. high and two goblets, 17cm., 6 5/8 in. high; together with;
a group of cut-glass ware comprising; a decanter and stopper, with handle, 27.5cm., 10 7/8 in. high;
a footed jug with handle, 26.5cm., 14 3/8 in. high;
a set of 8 decanters and stoppers, with three neck rings, 23.3cm., 9 1/4 in. high;
a set of 4 decanters and stoppers, with five neck rings, 26cm., 10 1/4 in. high;
a set of 4 small decanters, lacking stoppers, 17cm., 6 5/8 in. high;
and a set of 4 rinsers, 10.4cm., 4 1/8 in. high

Provenance
Commissioned by John George Lambton (1792-1840), Lambton Hall, Co. Durham. Lambton was appointed Lord Privy Seal from 1830 and created Earl in 1833.
Condition
The pieces from the Lambton service are in overall good condition with minor chips and nicks around the rim of the rinsers and to the edges of the bases on the goblets.
The eight triple-ring neck decanters are in two sizes. Four are 26.5cm. high and four are 23.3cm. high. One of the smaller ones has cracks to the rim and neck. Otherwise the remaining decanters and rinsers are in overall good condition with very minor chips and nicks to extremities.
