Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a black varnish applied to the surface which may obscure some condition issues. There are some nicks and scratches to the surface throughout. The bronzes were cast in sections and joints are visible to the woman's proper left wrist and arm, to the cymbals in her hand, and to the man's upper left arm where a pin is also visible. The spear is slightly warped and is loose. There is some glue residue to the tops of the bases. The stands are also composed in sections and the different sections are held together by screws which are visible. There is wear to the patina, in particular at the high points and there are losses to the patina of the spear.
